Welcome to Art 337: Interaction Design

by skought

Welcome. Many of you have requested more information about the course and what you could do to prepare.

  1. Required Reading | teachtheweb.com: Teaching web design at the University level is a topic of discussion in the web community. Because you are planning on taking this course, study teachtheweb.com.  It should give you a good idea of what is expected of you upon graduation. Come prepared the first day of class to discuss the information presented and what you think it means to your future as a graphic designer.
  2. Comment on your experience designing for the web. It will help me know where you are in the process and how to best help you.
  3. Explore the resources in the sidebar to begin to familiarize yourself with the technology you will be using in the course. Focus on css. I will be adding to the list.
  4. Start a WordPress Blog | www.wordpress.com: (If you already have a blog using WordPress you don’t need to start a new one.) Experiment with the themes and capabilities that WordPress offers.
  5. Find one interesting fact about Pygmy Goats to share in class on the first day. (Trust me on this one.)
