I chose to use a san serif font for my site. I really like the geometic look and the simplicity of the design.
My first choice would be helvetica.

Working with dreamweaver and getting my site up and working took a lot more work than I expected.
I really hope that I can learn more about getting a website up and running but I think it will take a lot more work. I think it was really good to learn to learn how to make a style guide. Now i can design a site and know what to tell a person when they need to code the site.
What I have finished so far on my site is on my site at www.jessicabutlerdesign.com .
I have made a couple changes to my site. Let me know what you guys think.
This would be my home page. It shows a couple of my recent projects and a blurb about me.
This is what will show up when people click on my portfolio page. They can look at all my projects in the graphic design section or click on photography or artwork and have that change also.
This is what the page will look like when someone clicks on one of my projects. I want people to be able to click on the smaller images and have them show up above in the bigger spots.
This is what I am thinking for the about me part of my site. I really like picture so I decided to make it more interesting to put up a lot more pictures.
This is what I have so far on the blog. It needs some work but I am not sure what yet. Let me know what you think.
This is what I have so far for my portfolio site.
This is what I think my home page will look like. I wanted to have my contact information right on the page. Along with a little blurb about what I do and a pictures from projects.
This is what I was thinking would show up when someone clicks on my portfolio. It will show an overview of a bunch of projects and then list the projects on the sidebar so people could also choose the projects there.
This is what it will look like when someone clicks on one of the projects in my portfolio. After they are on a certain project people can still click on projects in the sidebar. I will give a little information about each project and they can click on the small images and I want to have them fade into the big image.
Here are my site sketches.
I really like the simple websites with a lot of white space and really nice typography. After doing my research I saw some sites with big photos that caught my attention right away on the main page. I like the idea of using that along with a short saying about myself to let people know what my site is about.
Here is what I have so far for my graybox.
I really wanted a lot of white space and some easy navigation. I am using my signature as my logo, I like how personal it feels, I don’t know if it the best answer but I like the feel of it.
I want my main page to show some pictures of recent projects and say something. I am not sure if I really like what I have on there right now.
This is what would show up when someone clicks on my portfolio. It will show the sections in my portfolio, design, photography and artwork and some of the projects to click on. In the sidebar I will have navigation to my portfolio showing all the projects. When you click on a project this is what will show up.
Here people can look at projects close up and click on the smaller images to see more and some projects will show process sketches. I need to work on adding color now to see what it will look like. I don’t think I want too much color.
I did a lot of research for this project and found a lot of Websites that I really liked.
I think I can know what I can do in Dreamweaver. I really don’t know that much and I don’t want to try something that I know I have no idea how to do. After doing my research I found that I really like the simple websites. I am going to post a couple of them. Some are portfolio websites and some are just some websites that I like the design.
I like the typography on this page. I like the navigation and how it is simple but not boring. I like the way it shows what page you are on also.
I really like the simplicity of this site. A lot of white space is very appealing to me. This site is very easy to navigate but it also caught my attention with her big type on the first page saying “HELLO…”
This is not a portfolio site but I really like the simple, gray background. imagery and typography. I like the simple use of color and not too much.
My portfolio site will be targeted towards design firms and future employers.
I want it to be beautifully simple. My objectives will be to include my Resume and contact information for any future employers to get ahold of me. I will include a portfolio with my work and some process for certain projects and also a blog for projects and inspiration. I want to let potential employers know what I have to offer.
I am sick and missed class on monday. Could anyone tell me what I missed and what is due in class on wednesday? Thanks and I hope everyone is having a great week!
