Reduce the Indesign document to 50% scale and then take a screen picture using comand+4. This will give you cross hairs that allow you to select the area for the screen capture. The screen capture will be named Picture 1, and is usually on the desktop.

Objective | Review progress on Assignment No. 01 and evaluate the necessary creative and technical steps needed to create a found, photographed alphabet that is visually and intellectually exciting.

Prepare

A.01 | process steps

  • Explore | observe and discover letter-forms in the world around you
  • Experiment | what can you do with your observations to make them as interesting as possible
  • Preliminary photograph | experiment by photographing the letter forms some options are lighting, backgrounds, and angles
  • Proof of concept print | photograph and print at least 12 of the letter forms to demonstrate that the idea is producible

group critique | overview critique to give an overall direction to the class

work group | work and discussion with a small group. Bring photos and camera to experiment with during class.
