A lot of the time you just have to play around with the paragraph but there is another option. We haven't been taught it much and there was a section or two on it in Lynda.com but there is a whole panel under paragraph styles called "justification" that allows you to play with letter spacing etc. Its really easy to mess it all up though so really try to do some previous research!
