Hi. I changed my concept. after looking through my pictures most of my favorites (except one) were of an empty object, so i didn’t really think hoarding made sense.
I really struggled with what concept would go with my object and settled on infant loss. a friend of mine had twin boys born last year that lived only about 15 minutes. (they were 20 weeks early) and she regularly blogs about her life and her boys. I always find her posts really interesting and raw- she doesn’t try to sugarcoat the situation at all. I think the empty glass globe is a nice illustration of the emptiness a family feels as they loose a child. I used neutra face for the tiles and headings, and gotham for the body text, neither of which are on this computer so i’m sorry the type is all messed up. I have one spread not pictured, it is right before the leaves picture- but i haven’t done it yet- it’s just a blank spread right now.

the grid I am using

Pages 1-2

Pages 3-4
My first two spreads. I went with the very close up felt pictures because I didn’t like the texture. I’m not sure if I should continue with the type I am doing, if it is too chaotic, or not… If all of the spreads will look too much the same..I haven’t done my cover yet, and i am planning to have the first page and the last pagehave color theory information such as, the definitions of an analogous color, complimentary color, tint… etc. On these end pages and my cover/back cover is probably where my other 3 pictures will be posted. I’m not quite sure what to do with those pictures… any suggestions? I’m also not too sure on the tints boxes… if they are effective or executed wrong… also, halfway through my book, the colors get too dark for black being the small text so the white/black text switch exactly in the middle of my book.

The image shown above has the guides on. To turn them off press the "W" key.
Reduce the Indesign document to 50% scale and then take a screen picture using comand+4. This will give you cross hairs that allow you to select the area for the screen capture. The screen capture will be named Picture 1, and is usually on the desktop.

Use medium as the size of the image post. And link to none.
I will be watching for your posts.

Handle Bar on Red Shoe
I chose this picture of the handle bar on a red shoe. The red on the shoe pops out at the viewer while the black gives the image contrast. There is also alignment with the variety of shoes. I wanted a picture of the handle bar in something else since one of my areas of focus for this project might be geared more towards having an object go inside the handle bar or making it look like it goes with another object.

The mailboxes in this photo create an interesting depth. I love the variety in their shapes, sizes, and colors. I also like the composition as it moves your eye from one end of the photo to the other.

Pink Ray of Light
I picked this photo of the handle bar on a pink piece of fabric because of the bright light that it produced inside of the handle bar. I also like the color of the light and how radiant it is. It kind of looks like pink fire going up into a tube.

Week Eight
This weeks favorite photo is the first photo I have taken of my pet in its natural environment. I like the contast of the orange against the purple and the placement of the three main objects.

Red felt and a red wagon
The red wagon I thought was a good move because being in the book, it will create a good connection with the viewers because pretty much everyone has some memory from their childhood about a red wagon, so they will automatically make a strong connection.

Another abstract.
I really liked this abstract picture and the play between color and shadow. I’m still leaning toward the other types of photo sessions. This one is abstract but maybe needs to be even more abstract. I think the colors in these pictures don’t really draw you into the picture as well as the others.

orange light and orange felt
I really like this photo because of the mystery. You don’t really know what it is so it makes you think and you discover things about what it could be. It is actually an orange sphere hanging light. I really like the textures on the felt and the orange light wrapping. and how they look together.
