Calico cammmel

This painting was done as an experiment in a workshop that I went to last week. As everyone should know three humps are for crossing longer deserts. This camel should be spelled cammmel.

The workshop was with Kevin Hawkes at the Writing and Illustration for Young Readers Conference in Sandy, Utah. As always it was a great week filled with ups and downs and now my book is better.

Kevin had so much good practical advice and had a way of presenting information so that it was easily understood. Each day we started off with an exercise to warm up which he compared to yoga. It was a great conference with a great instructor.

  1. It was so good to see you at the conference and have you sign your book to all my kids. They were so excited when I brought it home, signed by you!
